When we heard the news about this guy, we quickly drove to Riva. With the help of a small fishing boat we found and photographed the Common Eider..

Dotterel...3 individuals

Observed and photographed by Hakan Perek on 25th of March. After him we went to Riva and found these little guys and photographed them. One of them was in a bad condition but also was feeding. I hope he got stronger and continued his journey. We hope to see them on a regular basis around here.

Great Spotted Cuckoo...1 individual

After many of us photographed Great spotted cuckoo in Istanbul I finally made a trip to Çatalca with other photographer friends. We photographed this colorful and rare species for us for 2 hours. We managed to get some decent images...

Long-Tailed Duck...1 individual

Our early morning started at Incegiz - Istanbul with no luck at all. We decided to drive to Kiyikoy. When we arrived to the Kiyikoy harbour this Long-Tailed Duck made our day. We had to photograph from a distance but it was all worth it.

December.13.2008 Karaburun - ISTANBUL

Snow Bunting...1 individual

It was a very cloudy day but we decided to go to Karaburun with Ekrem Yanık anyway. First we observed Durusu area but we could not get any decent images. When we arrived to Karaburun coast we saw this little fellow feeding on the beach. If I’m not mistaken this was the 9th record from Turkiye and 1st from Istanbul. We did not see any health problems.

November.23.2008 Karaburun - ISTANBUL

Albino Cormorant...

1 individual Today we observed and photographed an Albimo Cormorant in Karaburun harbour. He was eating fish with the other cormorants. No particular problems was seen. 

November.23.2008 Durusu - ISTANBUL

Nutcracker...2 individuals

On the 25th of October 2008, Cemal Sevindi recorded Nutcracker in Erzurum. On the 16th of November birdwatchers James Lambert and Simon King found the first Nutcracker in Durusu and observed. After them we went to see and photograph the beautiful bird. We found him quickly but we noticed that there was a second individual with him. This was a surprise for all of us.

January.15.2008 Buyukcekmece - ISTANBUL

Pine Bunting...1 individual

First Fikret Can found and photographed this Pine Bunting. This was the 5th record for Turkiye. I went down there to see this accidental bird. I was one of the lucky ones. I stayed for a few hours and photographed him while he was feeding. Maybe he was getting ready for his trip. It was a rainy day and taking photograps was little hard.
